I am a PhD candidate in Economics at the University of California, Davis, specializing in public economics and development.
My research examines how governments can optimally provide assistance and social protection to the most vulnerable, particularly in developing settings characterized by capacity constraints, limited verifiability of income, and decentralized program implementation. In a complementary line of work, I study how politicians' preferences, beliefs, and political networks-especially mayoral connections-influence their policy priorities and the implementation of tax policies.
I hold a MS in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University and a BA in Economics from the University of Tucuman. Before my PhD, I worked as an Economic Consultant at the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank.
